What makes person successful

They Have Confidence: Confidence shouldn't be confused with arrogance. Confidence is the belief and conviction in self and what you apply your time to. Successful people are great at this. While most people prefer to "stay grounded" or "stay down to Earth," successful people keep their head in the clouds, not necessarily as a means of feeling as though they're above others, but as a process for ensuring the world and everyone in it doesn't bring them down to their level.

It's something that they can never seem to have enough of and they're busy constantly trying to manage it, but are rarely successful at doing so. Successful people know that time can't actually be managed, because you can only manage something that you can actually change.

Time does not change. It does not stop, pause or go backwards therefore it can not be managed. Instead, successful people prioritize the things that matter most, focus on those and leave the rest to be tackled on another day.

They are Optimistic: In a world riddled with chaos, controversy, death and taxes, it can be extremely easy to develop a negative outlook on life. Successful people see through the noise and continue traveling forward. They don't concern themselves with the minutiae of these momentary disruptions. They see the glass as half full. They see light at the end of the tunnel.

For successful people, this isn't just about wishful thinking, it's a survival mechanism. They Embrace Challenges: We live in a world where industries are constantly trying to make things easier, rather it's a get rich quick scheme or magic weight loss pill.

This mentality makes the average person lazy, more risk-averse and complacent. Successful people see things like financial struggles or weight loss not as a burden, but as an incredible challenge to conquer. You won't randomly get lucky and successful people know that. They will do at least one thing every single day to put themselves in a better position to get lucky and then use that luck to grow.

They set real goals that they can accomplish. Successful people wake up and they've already planned their day, while unsuccessful people are scrambling to figure out what they need to do next. Their goals are very focused, big yet obtainable and are aligned to their strengths.

They know what they are capable of and will invest all of their efforts in it, avoiding their weaknesses. They take accountability for themselves and their actions.

They aren't relying on other people in order to get the job done. Instead, they are looking inwards and are trying to find the solutions, while leveraging their current assets. If they make a mistake, they own up to it and immediately think of ways that they can improve next time, not making the same mistake twice.

They make change instead of being affected by it. Successful people aren't waiting around to be affected by economic trends. They are the ones who are creating the trends and making things happen.

They are able to adjust to changes in the marketplace. Successful people are willing to reinvent themselves to stay relevant in the business world. They understand that if you stay stagnant and ignore trends, that you will be left behind. They are constantly coming up with new ideas, searching for the next big thing and getting new skills. They can communicate their story effectively. If you walk up to a successful person and ask them what they do, they will able to tell you everything in a concise manner.

They know who they are, what they do and can make you believe in them. They have strong posture and are very persuasive and confident. They ask the right questions to the people who can deliver the right answers. Successful people know they need to solve problems by tapping their networks. They aren't afraid of emailing or calling the best person who can answer their questions.

They are always prepared with the right questions and are always willing to help the other person out in return. Without a doubt, success in life also means developing the ability to be grateful and to find the nuggets of beauty in less glamorous times. We believe true success includes making a difference in the world.

The most powerful difference you can make is the difference you make in the life of others. Otherwise, all your success dies with you. As Roy T Bennett put it:.

How to Set Goals in Life. Investing in relationships is crucial in having success in life! We become who we spend the most time with so it is important that we seek out relationships with others who are successful in whatever area of life we are seeking. These types of relationships can mentor us and keep us focused on the right goals that are needed to achieve that success. And I think so much is picked up subconsciously too — just being around a person.

I became interested in helping foster youth because I was around people who were doing it. I got to see the need and the example. For sure — relationships are so key!! I feel you on the perfectionism! Great point! Glad you are recovering too.

Thanks Marcie! I also am a big fan of creating good habits… they help me make good choices more easily. Even simple things like getting into the habit of always having a water bottle filled up and next to me in the morning — helps me stay on top of my hydration. Thanks for the encouragement. These are all great tips to become more successful! Especially saying no has been tricky for me. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you! Thank you so much Melody! Yes — we are created for much more than our culture tells us. Even as we pursue spiritual growth these tips can be helpful! Thanks Stacey! I just watched the short series on Bill Gates on Netflix. Pretty fascinating from a success perspective of course! A wise man leave an inheritance for his children children.

I agree with you there, Benjamin. These goals are meant to be a bit more abstract — so that they can apply to pursuits of faith as well! Ask, seek, knock,.. Prioritize things like prayer, reading the Bible, etc. Take smart risks step out in faith … learn from the experts theologians, mentors, pastors …. And yet, as you mention, in the end.. They are helpful though as we pursue doing our part to live well and honor God.

Great post, with true pointers to success. Bless you my friend xx. Thanks Chrissie. Mentorship is really important — especially for former foster youth, who often are less connected to supportive adults than the rest of the population.

We hope our posts can help give ideas and encouragement to mentors and others who support young adults in their endeavors to become successful in life! I wrote all if these down to reference in the future. Your last comment struck a cord. This is the first time I read a long article like this. Big thanks for this informative article.

I learned a lot and certainly, I will apply all these tips. Thanks again. But a smart risk may be a risk you take that is smart, because the end goal is so valuable or because the odds are in your favor. All successful people have had to take risks to get there. So, Elon Musk took a risk starting Space X and Tesla — and it has panned out for him pretty well, but it was risky. I believe he said as recently as 2 years ago Tesla was days away from bankruptcy. Investing in the stock market is risky.

But if you educate yourself on investing, some stocks are nearly without risk while others are basically throwing your money way bad risk. Smart risks are ones we take that are measured, knowing the possible outcomes ahead of time, and end in some beneficial, good, and ethical result. I think an online business will be your best bet, especially these days. Find something you are very interested in or passionate about.

Figure out a way to solve or improve a problem regarding that area of interest. And keep in mind that most likely, the most valuable thing that will come from your first business is learning experience. The most successful entrepreneurs go through multiple failed businesses before finding one that really takes off. So, do your best, apply the 10 keys mentioned above, and do your best to have fun along the way. Success definitely requires figuring out your priorities — especially with your time.

Our mission is to help others succeed in life. How can i make it stronger. The teen years are hard — its a time where everyone is trying to figure out who they are and who they want to be. Finally, one good tip for developing stronger relationships is to get good at listening.

Ask questions and truly listen to the answers. Ask follow up questions. Most people like to feel heard and you may learn a lot along the way just by listening. Thanks for writing. Your self-awareness is a great asset — even though you may feel week in the moment. Do pursue the business! Do it scared.. The point I liked the most is Learn from the Expert, when you surround yourself with an expert, you definitely become a better person in life.
